Welcome everyone to Dillon's Corner.

Lets start off by introducing myself. My name is Dillon Itani and I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I still reside in the Tampa Bay area and do not see myself leaving Tampa anytime soon. I currently am entering the final courses towards my Information Studies degree and am looking forward to getting done with these last couple semesters and moving forward into a career in the field of study.

I am a pretty outgoing person and enjoy playing in a couple different of soccer leagues with friends, going out on the weekends, and spending time with family when I can. As far as professional experience I have been in the car business for most of my adult life and have had some jobs as well in the recruiting industry hiring people for a few different companies during that time.

I am not to big into social media so this blog experience will be something different for me. I do have an Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, however, I rarely use any of these social media outlets outside of scrolling and seeing some sports news from pages I follow. This is my first time creating a blog and I am looking forward to doing something outside of my comfort zone such as this. As far as using and reading blogs, I also do not have much experience in that field as well.

As far as dislikes and likes about blogs, I believe they are a good place to express ones self and/or to discuss a topic someone is interested in. I don't have any dislikes about blogs in general. I plan to get into the habit of finding a few blogs this semester that I enjoy and reading through them weekly.

I look forward to my next post and hope I can progress and create something entertaining and informative for myself and others.

    Congratulations on being so close to graduation! I really hope you find this course fun, interesting and a relief from the more challenging courses you are probably taking to finish up.

Social Media and Healthcare: LJ7

Hi Everyone, This past week our readings were focused on the links between healthcare and social media. We had articles that went over if social media can have positve impacts on healthcare, online healthcare and social support services, the spread of misinformation of healthcare, etc. The articles that stood out most to me were "Can Social Media Have A Positive Impact On Global Healthcare" by A. Arnold; and "Impact of Rumors or Misinformation on Coronavirus disease in Social Media by Hossain and Mazumder. These readings did not change how I use social media however they have brought some light to things I didn't have much information on before. One thing I was surprised to read was in the article by Arnold was that millenials are ditching primary healthcare in favor of social media.
